Derby Rossazzurro

Another derby coming up, this time against

Paterno', a team with the same colours of Catania, red and light blue.

Paterno' is only 20 km from Catania and with a population of 48,000 people it is the third municipality of Catania province after Catania and Acireale.

This is the second time that the Paterno' plays in Catania, the first time it was in 1993 when Catania played its first game in Eccellenza (Serie F). The game terminated 0-0 and the legend says that because Catania weared a white t-shirt, the fans supported Paterno' at the beginning of the game until realising that the Rossazzurri were not Catania.

Last October instead the game in Paterno' terminated 0-4 with goals of Sarao, Lodi, Jefferson and Russotto (see picture above).

Paterno' is second last in the ladder so they will try to get some points at Massimino despite so far Catania won all the home games in this tournament.

Meantime Locri is playing against Mariglianese (last in the ladder) to try to keep the 17 points from Catania.

At Massimino stadium they are expecting more then 16000 spectators.
