The game is against the Lioncels of Potenza, team representing the capital of Basilicata region, a big town of 65.000.
This is the 16th time that Potenza plays in Catania (last time 2 years ago in Serie C when Catania won 2-1) where they have lost 11 times and won only once (in Serie B in 1966).
This season Catania already played in Potenza, loosing 1-0. After that game, Catania FC dismissed the coach Tabbiani. Lucarelli replaced him but, after only three months and before the next game against Potenza, he has been dismissed too as he didn't manage to change the negative trend.
Lucarelli's spot has been taken by Michele Zeoli, assistant coach at Catania FC since last year, a coach loved by the supporters as he played in Catania in Serie C and B for 4 years (100 games played from 2000 to 2004).
Both teams are in a bad moment as they both won only 1 game in their last 9 games.
Potenza is currently 14th in the ladder with 36 point, 1 more than the Elephants (15th position) so it is very important for Catania to win this game.
Can Zeoli fix the situation and keep Catania away from the playout position (currently only six points away)?
