After two games away in Calabria, Catania is finally playing home this Sunday against Mariglianese, currently last in the ladder.
It may seem an easy game however Mariglianese, after a very bad 2022 (0 wins), in January have improved the team with new players and since then had won 3 games out of 5, last one against Vibonese.
For Mariglianese, the team that represents Marigliano, a town of 30.000 near Naples, this game is an event as they never played in Catania before in their history. The only game ever played between Catania and Mariglianese was the game in Marigliano four months ago, game won by the Rossazzurri 1-2 with goals of Vitale and De Luca (see picture above).
With Sarao out, most likely we will see Jefferson starting the game as forward. The Brasilian will be surely very motivated as the last time he started a game was two months ago. Good chances to see playing De Respinis e Litteri as well.
For this game Catania's stadium is expected to be super full as a massive discount has been offered to the fans for this game. Also, Mr Pelligra will be there too and so far when he is at the stadium Catania always wins. Another win will keep Locri (playing at Vibo against Vibonese) at a safe distance before the big match of next week, Locri - Catania.
